About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! This is a 13-week seasonal contract position, full-time, working nights. The shift is three 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Our Labor and Delivery unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. Our leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes Level III Maternal and Neonatal Designation. The unit has 10 Labor and Delivery Suites, 4 obstetrical emergency beds, 2 operating rooms, 2 PACU beds, and 5 high-risk antepartum beds. Our McKinney nursing teams serve a very fast-paced, high-volume environment with consistently strong patient census and acuity. As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, and implement care plans. Monitoring patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience.
  • A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of (1) one year's experience in the field of nursing.
  • A valid Registered Nurse license.
  • The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.

  • Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly, making adjustments as needed.

  • Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.
  • Align with the nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, and implement care plans.
  • Monitor patient progress.

  • Use expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
