Registered Nurse (RN)
About The Position
Provides breastfeeding education and consultation to prospective and current Baptist Health System patients in inpatient and outpatient settings. Provides staff-development guidance to help hospital staff assist breastfeeding mothers. Monitors, evaluates, and revises the breastfeeding patient education program to ensure it complies with established national standards. Mentors and evaluates instructors who provide breastfeeding education. Completes established position competencies within the designated introductory period and performs other related duties as assigned. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- At least 2 years of clinical nursing practice.
- Demonstrated competency in the area of expertise.
- Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse.
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from ARC or AHA at hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Certificate in lactation consulting through a national certifying organization required within one year of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years of adult teaching experience.
- Experience providing lactation consulting.
