About The Position

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. The position is in the LDRP department.

Requirements

• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
• For new hires after 2012, a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the timeframe specified by the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 120 days of hire.
• Maintain any OB/Neonatal certifications obtained during employment for the remainder of employment. Examples include Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, and lactation certifications.
• Basic Life Support/CPR (BLS) certification.
• Florida Registered Nurse (FL RN) license.
• Work varying days of the week, including required holidays and weekends; 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in a nursing specialty area.
