About The Position

Danbury Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for its Delivery Room. The nurse provides professional care and assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients during a designated time frame, using the nursing process in collaboration with other health care team members. The role works 24 hours per week on a 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. schedule, with holiday and weekend requirements.

Requirements

State of Connecticut RN license.
BLS certification.
At least 6 months of labor and delivery RN experience.
ACLS and NRP certifications, or ability to obtain them within 6 months of hire.
EFM certification, or ability to obtain it within 12 months of hire.
Associate's-level degree.

Nice To Haves

Nursing certification.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

Perform ongoing, systematic assessments focused on patients’ physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
Formulate a goal-directed, prioritized plan of care based on nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
Prioritize patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
Evaluate the effectiveness of care and patients’ progress toward outcomes.
Identify patients’ and significant others’ learning needs and implement appropriate measures to address them.
Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
Fulfill compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Perform other duties as assigned.
