About The Position
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing, and providing nursing care according to hospital and department policies and procedures. Key dimensions include quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, positive public and customer relations, and broad nursing knowledge. The Registered Nurse assists with new staff orientation, provides clinical guidance and support to students, and assumes relief charge nurse duties when oriented and assigned.
Requirements
- State of California RN license required.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Pass orientation and the initial competency assessment before independently caring for patients requiring the applicable skill.
- Complete and pass all annual competencies.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of experience as a registered nurse working with adult psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Board Certification.
Responsibilities
