About The Position

This is a 1.0 FTE position where the Registered Nurse will be working in Seattle, Bellevue, and Federal Way. As an integral member of the Health Care Team, the RN functions within the Scope of Practice as defined by the State, the ANA Scope and Standards for Pediatric Nursing Practice, and adheres to Seattle Children's policies/procedures and guidelines of care. The role is responsible for providing safe, family-centered patient care. Using the Nursing Care Process, the RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a collaborative method with the patient and patient's family, significant others, and members of the health care team. The position may require the RN to provide supervision and delegation of tasks to Nurse Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, and others as defined by the State Administrative Code. The RN will assist in meeting Seattle Children's strategic goals by incorporating initiatives to support strategic plans into daily work, such as Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI), Value Based Behaviors, Error Prevention, Patient Safety, and Workforce Inclusion Diversity Equity and Access (IDEA).

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Washington State RN License, or other current state license that the RN is required to work in.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers is required for all positions at time of hire unless the incumbent possesses a current appropriate Life Support Education required for their practice area.
  • BLS must be maintained in current status until the incumbent obtains the appropriate Life Support Life Support Education required for their practice area.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a pediatric related health care setting, or a specific area of nursing, may be required for specific departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Pediatric health care nursing experience.
  • Pediatric pulmonary experience.
