About The Position

The Temporary Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing within the agency, ensuring continuity and quality of care for hospice patients. This is a temporary position expected to last 13 weeks, subject to the terms of the employment agreement and operational needs.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Washington State.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Safety (BLS).
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to independently drive within Tri-Cities Chaplaincy’s service areas to provide in-home patient and family services and support in clients' homes, facilities, and community locations.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen which includes cannabis testing in Washington State.
  • Washington State Food Worker Card issued by the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrate support and adherence to the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
  • Maintain reliable personal transportation.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
  • Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization, declinations, or approved accommodations as applicable.
  • Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
  • Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of hospice, palliative, or home health experience.
  • Wellsky Software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing within the agency.
  • Ensure continuity and quality of care for hospice patients.
  • Participate in education and outreach activities to promote agency programs, including hospice care, advanced planning, and bereavement services.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with agency policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Protect patient and agency information per HIPAA guidelines. Only access information on a need-to-know basis.
  • Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
  • Complete ongoing education, policy reviews, and training by designated deadlines.
  • Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
  • Be available to work as assigned or scheduled.
