Registered Nurse RN FT Days and Nights Med/Surg RN
About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for its Medical/Surgical unit, with day and night shifts available. The role consists of three 12-hour shifts per week: 7 a.m.–7 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7 a.m. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is currently offered to qualifying full-time Med/Surg RNs. The RN assesses each patient's needs and plans nursing care to address spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. The RN ensures the care plan is carried out through their own work and/or leadership of subordinate personnel, then evaluates and documents patients’ responses verbally and in writing. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to perform patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge and ability to perform skills necessary for unit-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies.
- Eligibility to participate in a new RN Preceptorship program.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Advanced competencies demonstrated through participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Six to twelve months of RN experience in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of each patient on the unit.
- Plan nursing care to meet patients’ spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
- Ensure the plan of care is carried out through personal performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
- Evaluate patients’ responses to care and document those responses verbally and in writing.
