Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited associate's degree or diploma program.
  • If graduated from a nursing program not accredited by ACEN, at least one year of RN experience (within the last five years) in an applicable care setting is required.
  • If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of current LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is required.
  • Active Minnesota Registered Nurse License.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers (certified by American Heart Association, Red Cross, or Military Training Network).

  • International Degrees require a detailed equivalency evaluation from an organization listed as a member of NACES or AICE.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of work experience in Long Term Care or Home Health or two years of acute care nursing is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and prioritize resident needs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and resident-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and human relation skills to interact with Health Service and Charter House staff.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are necessary with the ability to collect, compare, sort and prioritize information to be used in the decision-making process for groups of residents and employees.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations and stress.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centered nursing care in alignment with Mayo Clinic standards, including assessing, diagnosing, outcome identification, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Monitor and manage residents’ health needs across multiple care settings, including Individualized Health Services, Catered Living, and Enhanced Living.
  • Supervise nursing care provided by the professional and ancillary nursing team across care settings.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, residents, and families to assess and plan care, meeting care, educational, and discharge needs.
  • Accurately document skilled interventions to reflect clinical judgment and resident needs.
