About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering nursing care within the assigned unit’s scope of practice, following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, and standards of care and practice. This position is in the Operating Room and works a day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with 70 scheduled hours per biweekly pay period.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification as a Healthcare Provider.
• Experience specific to the unit or position may be required to maintain the unit’s overall competency level, as required by the regulatory agency.
• Required certifications within six months of hire apply to specified units: ACLS for Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit, Step-Down, and Telemetry Floats; NRP for Labor and Delivery; and PALS for Pediatrics. Emergency Department RNs must have PALS and TNCC within one year.

Nice To Haves

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS certification preferred in other units.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document and evaluate their responses to the plan of care, and take appropriate corrective action.
• Plan and implement each patient’s plan of care or standard of care and provide patient teaching using that plan.
• Oversee ancillary personnel performing technical tasks.
