About The Position

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to support various procedures. Monitors patients, administers medications, uses EMR, consults with healthcare providers, and educates patients.

  • Maintains BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

  • Identifies and reports all risk management issues in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit, including cardiovascular and pulmonary.
  • Consistently maintains SGNA standards of practice.

  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
  • Assumes primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patients progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart including patient education.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of any changes in the patient's status and of any interventions taken.
  • Provides complete charting of patient's procedure and charge documentation to help ensure accurate billing.
  • Completes post case data sheet completely and legibly.
  • Fulfills mandatory education obligations.
  • Maintains BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and is able to identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
  • Attends pertinent educational offerings and staff meetings to keep abreast of changes within the unit and hospital.
  • Actively pursues professional growth and development by taking the initiative to obtain information on new equipment and technology.
