About The Position

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Perinatologist to join their team. This role involves the supervision of care and direct care to high-risk and normal OB/GYN patients, including outreach consultations and visits to support hospitals. The position also focuses on developing and supporting quality improvement efforts for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, providing care to transport patients, and co-managing high-risk patients with other members of the department. Responsibilities include assessing fetal status for the Perinatal Diagnostic Testing Center, performing administrative functions by serving on committees, and teaching, supervising, and evaluating residents and students. The role also requires participation in MFM call coverage, community education, and marketing the practice. Maintaining health promotion and maintenance standards, ensuring open communication with patients and families, and providing compassionate and ethical care to all patients, including indigent and clinic patients, are also key aspects of this position. Responsibilities

  • Supervision of care and direct care to high risk and normal OB/GYN patients.
  • Outreach consultations and visits to support hospitals.
  • Development and support of continuing efforts for quality improvement for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Care to transport patients.
  • Direct care to high-risk patients.
  • Consultation with members of Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology for high-risk patients (co-management).
  • Assessment of fetal status for perinatal Diagnostic Testing Center.
  • Performance of variety of administrative functions by serving on committees as designated by the Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and/or the Director of Maternal/Fetal Medicine.
  • Teaching, supervision and evaluation of residents and students.
  • Preparation and presentation of Grand Rounds and Conferences.
  • Participate in fair and equitable MFM call coverage.
  • Participate in community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned by the Hospital’s Chief Medical Officer.
  • Market the practice through direct physician to physician communication, community education, community service or other appropriate channels.
  • Maintain and implement standards for health promotion and health maintenance.
  • Provide open and timely communication with patients, families and their significant others.
  • Ensure that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times.
  • Accept and care for indigent and clinic patients in a manner consistent with compassionate and ethical patient care.
  • Accept all managed care plans accepted by Atlantic Health hospitals.
