About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an RN for a Part Time, Day shift on our IMCU in Charlottesville, VA. Sign on bonus up to 7,500 available for qualified candidates. Intermediate Care Unit - Cornell 1: The Telemetry/Stroke Unit at Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. Cornell 1 also cares for TIA, acute stroke, and post procedural neuro cases that stepdown from ICU. This 30-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:5 with mixed patient acuity levels and is well supported with additional patient care technicians, educators, and a strong leadership team. Sentara Martha Jefferson has under a 12.6% RN Turnover rate Patient Satisfaction scores are highest in the system at Martha Jefferson.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
• BLS within 90 days of hire.
• Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
• NIH within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.
• Acute care nursing experience preferred
• Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nursing (RN) is responsible to perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• The standards of practice (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation) along with the standards of professional performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health) encompass the actions and foundation of professional nursing.
• The RN possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
