About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring an RN for a Part Time, Day shift on our IMCU in Charlottesville, VA. A sign-on bonus of up to $7,500 is available for qualified candidates. The Intermediate Care Unit - Cornell 1 is the Telemetry/Stroke Unit, providing care for patients with various cardiac and neurological conditions. This 30-bed unit has a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 and is well-supported by additional patient care technicians, educators, and a strong leadership team. Sentara Martha Jefferson has a low RN turnover rate of under 12.6% and high patient satisfaction scores. The hospital also offers a Registered Nurse Transition to Practice Program, a unique 6-month program for RNs with less than 12 months of experience or those transitioning to a new practice area, which includes general nursing orientation, specialty clinical track residency, professional development sessions, and mentoring. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. Professional performance standards encompass ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN must possess clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards required by specific clinical areas.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma from an accredited Registered Nursing Program
  • Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIH within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Students in process of completing an accredited nursing program.
  • Acute care nursing experience preferred
  • Background in Stroke or Telemetry preferred
