About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Unit at the St. Charles Campus of Good Samaritan University Hospital manages care for adult and pediatric patients undergoing same-day surgeries. The nurse assesses and monitors patients, administers medication, documents progress, and manages overall pre-operative and post-operative care. The role works with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes and satisfaction, and advocates for patients and their loved ones through safety interventions, emotional support, and education.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience in a perioperative setting; ambulatory experience is preferred.
- At least 5 years of medical/surgical experience.
- New York Registered Nurse license and registration.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, or currently enrolled in a BSN program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and PEARS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
