About The Position

Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Observation Unit. As an experienced RN on this team, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patient care processes, conditions, and diagnoses. This position will give you the opportunity to learn and expand your nursing skills. You will be supported by leading technology and our virtual nurse team who will provide assistance for floor nurses with oversight, education, documentation, and monitoring to ensure the patients receive exceptional care. This position is Full Time Nights (3, 12-hr shifts per week).

Requirements

• 1 year of applicable experience
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
• Registered Nurse - Various
• Associate Degree - Nursing

Responsibilities

• Functions independently and accountable for utilizing the nursing process.
• Coordinates the care for a group of patients with the Multidisciplinary Team.
• Delegates tasks appropriately.
• Identifies hospital resources.
• Serves as a clinical resource for new employees.
• Demonstrates positive formal or informal leadership within unit or department.
• Performs patient care, delegating patient care tasks and for supervision of other patient care staff.
• Coordinates the plan of care for a group of assigned patients and consulting with other members of the health care team when indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrates proficiency and abides by policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures.
