Registered Nurse: Overnight (Psychiatric Inpatient)
About The Position
Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services in Malvern, PA is seeking a Full Time Overnight Registered Nurse (RN) for their Children's Psychiatric Inpatient Hospital. This role involves providing direct nursing care, administering medication, taking doctor's orders, and educating patients on coping skills related to psychiatric challenges. The RN will also be responsible for creating initial care plans and assisting in discharge planning. The position offers a supportive team environment focused on improving the lives of children and adolescents experiencing acute psychiatric crises.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing with a B.S.N., Diploma or A.D.
- Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- One year of post-education nursing experience preferred.
- Experience with individuals with cognitive and/or behavioral challenges or medically complex conditions.
- Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
- Valid driver's license must be maintained.
Responsibilities
- Perform direct nursing care.

- Provide education and coping skills to patients around sex education, suicidal behaviors, symptom management, self control, etc.
- Create initial care plans.
- Assist in discharge planning.
