Reports to: Director or Manager of Women's Services

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • Minimum of six months to one year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital Labor and Delivery or Medical/Surgical setting is required.
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification (required)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (required)

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS and PALS (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
  • Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
  • Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
