About The Position

This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments. The Registered Nurse (RN) joins our team, embracing a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. This role is within Ashley Regional hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network with facilities coast to coast.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Nursing required
1 year or less experience
BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation
Current RN license in state of practice
Ability to understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs.
Critical thinking
Work well under pressure while keeping calm and maintaining customer focus

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position

Responsibilities

Assesses the patient’s condition and nursing care needs.
Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
Develops individual nursing care plans.
Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
Evaluates patient care outcomes.
Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
Maintains facility equipment, supplies and work areas.
Assists in the orientation of new employees.
Coordinates and supervises activities of employees and department operations.
Participates in performance/process improvement activities.
