RN - Registered Nurse - Acute Care - Multiple Shifts
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. This role involves implementing and monitoring patient care plans, monitoring and communicating patient condition, serving as a primary coordinator for interdisciplinary patient care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders, and assessing and coordinating patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. The position is full-time and involves working days and nights on the 3 South, Med Surg unit at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.
Requirements
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
Responsibilities

- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
