About The Position

The Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent’s St. Clair comprises 12 beds where we provide 24/7 emergency care and utilize cutting-edge technology that includes UAB eMedicine Tele-ICU for expert trauma and critical care. Our interdisciplinary team collaborates across disciplines to deliver efficient, compassionate care in an exciting environment where you can be challenged every day with opportunities for growth, certification, and specialization.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
For the Freestanding Emergency Room, a minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience is required.

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
