About The Position

The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board is currently seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our regional crisis stabilization program at The BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, in Hampton, VA. This full-time overnight position offers the opportunity to provide essential care to individuals facing acute mental health and co-occurring substance use challenges in a supportive, team-based setting. Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing
At least one (1) year of experience in a behavioral health or psychiatric setting
Ability to enroll as a QMHP-A Trainee within 30 days of employment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to adults in acute behavioral health crisis.
Partner closely with the psychiatrist and interdisciplinary team to manage medications, monitor patient status, and support stabilization efforts.
Complete comprehensive health assessments.
Implement and update individualized care plans.
Ensure safe and accurate medication administration.
Coordinate medical services such as referrals and follow-up care.
Respond to urgent situations.
Offer crisis intervention and emotional support to both clients and their families.
