About The Position

Hanley Foundation in West Palm Beach seeks skilled nurses to join their team at a state-of-the-art substance use/mental health treatment facility. The foundation is dedicated to eliminating addiction through prevention, treatment, advocacy, and recovery support. Two positions are available: Full-Time Weekend Nurse (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.) and Full-Time Evening Nurse (Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.).

Requirements

  • Associate (ADN) or Bachelors (BSN) degree.
  • Currently licensed as an RN is required.
  • Current CPR/First Aid training/certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospital, chemical dependency rehabilitation treatment program, and/or behavioral health experience desired.
  • If in recovery, one year of continuous sobriety is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and document nursing assessments and screenings, including reviewing client histories and establishing a clinical nursing summary of all clients admitted.
  • Assess individual client care needs, initiate medical treatment plans, and competently process and implement all care according to physician orders and standards of nursing practice.
  • Utilize safe and effective medication ordering and management practices as defined by policy and nursing practice standards.
  • Accurately administer and monitor the effects of medications and conduct accurate controlled medication counts.
  • Process physician orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collect and process lab specimens following proper infection control procedures.
  • Provide appropriate client education as determined by client assessments/needs and treatment plans.
  • Delegate some duties and coordinate care with other direct-care staff to ensure continuity of client care, staff relations, and service efficiency.
  • Prepare and maintain client medical records, including appropriate and timely documentation.
  • Accurately and thoroughly document in the medical record utilizing approved medical record language and abbreviations adhering to the medical record policies and procedures.
  • Provide thorough and accurate shift reports to ensure continuity of client care.
  • Work a flexible schedule based upon service demands.
  • Attend all mandatory training as identified by Hanley policy.
  • Complete yearly training requirements and mentor new employees.
  • Effectively communicate medical/nursing issues to the clinical/case management team and serve as a resource.
  • Uphold all Hanley Foundation Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain client/potential client confidentiality following Hanley Policy.
  • Be responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of clients.
  • Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all clients and their medical records.
  • Complete duties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Report all alleged incidents of abuse or neglect following all state standards and accrediting bodies.
  • Ensure that all records are available for all state and accrediting bodies staff inspection.
  • Ensure and coordinate with the clinical staff’s functioning to avoid scheduling conflicts for clients between Administration, Clinical, and programmatic needs or requirements set forth by the standards.
  • Stand "On Call" at designated times.
  • Report directly to the MD/PA/ANP and complete orders in a professional and timely manner.
