About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), this Registered Nurse position assists in coordinating mother-baby patient care and education. The role involves utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) for patient care and providing clinical leadership for other staff. This is a part-time, 12-hour shift, rotating schedule position that works in both OB and MedSurg units. It is a non-exempt, hourly, union benefited position.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS, NRP, STABLE and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification as soon as available after hire.
  • Acute and Post Partum unit check off required after hire.
  • PALS certification encouraged.
  • At least one (1) year of acute clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates a positive and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families.
  • Prioritizes patient care and unit needs appropriately.
  • Functions as a positive team member with other hospital staff and physicians.
  • Recognizes and differentiates normal and abnormal patient assessments and conditions.
  • Provides effective education for patients, nursing staff members, and students.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Maintains open and effective communication with co-workers, physicians, and management staff.
