About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in accordance with Parkwood Behavioral Health System’s philosophy and objectives. The nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care using the nursing process, integrating care into the multidisciplinary treatment team’s plan. The role is accountable for assigned nursing activities during a shift and promotes and enhances professional nursing practice on the unit. The nurse may also assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required. This is a PRN position working 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program.
- Be licensed and registered by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or hold a multi-state license approved by NCSBN.
- Possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management, and CPR.
- Demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units serving male and female children, adolescents, adults, and dually diagnosed adults.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One year of prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing.
