About The Position

DMC Harper University Hospital is hiring a full-time, night-shift Registered Nurse for its Med Surg unit, which specializes in Neuroscience, ENT, and Nephrology and uses telemetry equipment. The hospital is a specialty referral center with expertise in surgery and medicine and established Centers of Excellence in neurosciences, bariatric surgery, vascular services, multidisciplinary cardiovascular services, hypertension, stroke prevention, and heart failure.

The Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides care for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and communicating and collaborating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. The RN reports directly to senior unit management and participates in shared decision-making activities. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is available, based on relevant experience.

Requirements

• Graduation from a school of nursing.
• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
• Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
