Registered Nurse (RN) - DOU
About The Position
West Anaheim Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare, is a 219-bed acute-care hospital providing general medical and surgical inpatient care, emergency and surgical services, behavioral health, comprehensive heart care, and diagnostic imaging. The Registered Nurse works in the DOU and delivers safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse provides direct care within their scope of practice and is accountable for the care of assigned patients. The role also includes guiding patient and family teaching and directing the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse communicates changes in patients’ clinical conditions to physicians, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptoms; responds promptly and accurately to changes in condition or treatment response; and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Current valid state Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain it.
- Current ACLS (AHA) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain it.
- Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute-care hospital.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a Critical Care Course.
- Critical care experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities

- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
