About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) at Wise Path Recovery Centers in Westover, WV. This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts, offering both day and night opportunities. Wise Path Recovery Centers provides compassionate, evidence-based treatment for individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. Nurses are essential to this mission, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality clinical care with dignity, compassion, and respect. The facility focuses on integrated behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, combining medical care, behavioral health services, recovery support, and trauma-informed practices. Nursing in behavioral health allows for the use of clinical skills while developing relationships during a critical point in a patient's recovery journey. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or applicable multistate privilege.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Willingness and ability to complete required training and become an Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) instructor/trainer, as applicable to the role and West Virginia requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, residential treatment, psychiatric nursing, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience with withdrawal-management protocols.
  • Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patients throughout treatment.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols.
  • Monitor patients experiencing withdrawal and identify changes in medical or behavioral condition.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations.
  • Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the appropriate medical provider.
  • Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and withdrawal-management protocols as ordered.
  • Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment, recovery, and overall wellness.
  • Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team communication and care coordination.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, physicians, behavioral health technicians, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Maintain medication security and follow medication administration and controlled-substance procedures.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, emergency response, and facility protocols.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational requirements.
  • Support Joint Commission, state licensing, and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Support the facility's medication administration program and medication safety practices.
  • Complete required qualifications to support AMAP training and competency validation for eligible team members.
  • Provide education, coaching, and oversight to staff regarding medication administration practices within their authorized scope.
  • Assist leadership with maintaining AMAP training, competency, and compliance requirements.
