About The Position
Registered Nurse (RN) at Wise Path Recovery Centers in Westover, WV. This is a full-time position with 12-hour shifts, offering both day and night opportunities. Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or applicable multistate privilege.
- Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
- Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Willingness and ability to complete required training and become an Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) instructor/trainer, as applicable to the role and West Virginia requirements.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, detoxification, residential treatment, psychiatric nursing, or a related healthcare environment.
- Experience with withdrawal-management protocols.
- Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct nursing assessments and monitor patients throughout treatment.
- Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with provider orders and facility protocols.
- Monitor patients experiencing withdrawal and identify changes in medical or behavioral condition.
- Obtain and document vital signs and other clinical observations.
- Communicate changes in patient condition promptly to the appropriate medical provider.
- Support medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and withdrawal-management protocols as ordered.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment, recovery, and overall wellness.
- Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral emergencies.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team communication and care coordination.
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, physicians, behavioral health technicians, therapists, and other members of the treatment team.
- Maintain medication security and follow medication administration and controlled-substance procedures.
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, emergency response, and facility protocols.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and organizational requirements.
- Support Joint Commission, state licensing, and other applicable regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Support the facility's medication administration program and medication safety practices.
- Complete required qualifications to support AMAP training and competency validation for eligible team members.
- Provide education, coaching, and oversight to staff regarding medication administration practices within their authorized scope.
- Assist leadership with maintaining AMAP training, competency, and compliance requirements.
