About The Position
Baptist South is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a full-time night position in the Neuro PCU. The nurse provides patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, in alignment with the hospital's mission. The role includes organizing and supervising care provided by supportive personnel, coordinating ancillary services, involving patients and their significant others or families in individualized care plans, and educating them about disease processes and plans of care. The Registered Nurse serves as a patient advocate and cares for patients receiving treatment for medical, surgical, chronic medical, and minor injury or illness conditions. The position is based at Baptist South's Main Building in Jacksonville, Florida. New hires are eligible for a $3,750 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Associate of Science in Nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Hospital experience.
- Telemetry experience.
- For diploma-prepared nurses, 5 or more years of progressive care experience.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Arts or Science (BA/BS) degree preferred.
- 1–2 years of cardiac experience preferred.
- RN experience in Med/Surg, PCU, or Critical Care.
Responsibilities
- Provide care to patients requiring treatment for medical, surgical, chronic medical, and other conditions, including minor injuries or illnesses.
- Use the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to address patient needs.
- Organize and supervise care provided by supportive personnel.
- Coordinate care provided by ancillary services.
- Include patients and their significant others or families in developing individualized plans of care.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes and plans of care.
- Serve as a patient advocate.
- Uphold the hospital mission statement.
- Interact with physicians and other hospital departments.
- Participate in staff meetings and other unit activities.
