RN - Registered Nurse - Ava's Hospice House - Weekends Rotating
About The Position
Ava’s House is a 20-bed inpatient acute hospice facility that cares for adult and pediatric patients. The facility offers a collaborative interdisciplinary team that promotes engagement and education, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, patient care techs, social workers, pharmacists, volunteer representatives, and chaplains. The department focuses on symptom management and maintaining comfort and dignity at end of life, providing 24-hour care and managing distressing symptoms in medically and ethically appropriate ways. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients. This position offers an opportunity to work independently and with a team of motivated professionals to provide ongoing collaboration and learning. The ideal candidate is positive, compassionate, hardworking, adaptable, a great communicator, detail-oriented, and possesses excellent time management skills. The nursing team is encouraged to be critical thinkers, with an Education team that develops curricula integrating evidence-based practices and engages with partners across the organization to provide necessary skills and tools for career success.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
- Currently holds an unencu mbrered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
