Requirements

Current active license in the State of Connecticut as a Registered Nurse.
At least one year of nursing experience.
Demonstrated ability and sensitivity to work with patients within the scope of this rehabilitation program.
Adult CPR/AED certification.

Nice To Haves

BSN license preferred.
Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) preferred or Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (or is actively pursuing credentialing) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Administering and dispensing medication as prescribed by the prescriber and in compliance with applicable regulations.
Completing admission and annual physicals, potentially working with the clinic provider.
Obtaining and recording patient vitals, collecting laboratory specimens (including phlebotomy), and completing other assigned tasks within scope of practice as directed.
Completing direct observation of clients prior to dosing, including general physical presentation and mental status, to confirm appropriateness for daily oral dose.
Collecting urinalysis specimens and other samples, viewing lab results, and informing supervisor of any discrepancies.
Assuming counseling responsibilities in health-related areas, including prenatal care, child and nutritional care, and general hygiene.
Reporting changes in condition to the provider and/or clinic supervisor.
Documenting clearly and completely services provided, the patient’s response, and any change in condition noted.
