About The Position
Peterson Health is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Clinical Decision Unit in Kerrville, Texas. This position is scheduled for three 12-hour day shifts, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The RN assesses each patient's needs and plans nursing care to address spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs. The RN ensures the plan of care is carried out through direct care and/or leadership of subordinate personnel, then evaluates and documents the patient's response verbally and in writing.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge and ability to perform skills required for unit-specific and age-specific competencies.
- Unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Eligibility to participate in a new RN Preceptorship program.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Advanced competencies demonstrated through participation in formal Continuing Nursing Education activities.
- Six to twelve months of experience as an RN in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess the needs of each patient on the unit.
- Plan nursing care to address patients' spiritual, emotional, physiological, and psychosocial needs.
- Carry out the plan of care through personal performance and/or leadership of subordinate personnel.
- Evaluate and document patients' responses to care, verbally and in writing.
