About The Position

Sentara Heart Hospital, located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac IMCU. The Sentara Heart Hospital is a 112-bed care facility recognized for its Cardiology services and Heart Surgery. The Cardiac IMCU is a 24-bed unit that provides high acuity cardiac care to patients with various cardiac conditions. The unit is telemetry wired and has received the ACCN Silver Beacon Award for excellence in patient care and work environment. New graduate nurses are welcome and will participate in a 6-month Nurse Residency program designed for their transition into practice.

Requirements

Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing
Virginia RN License or Virginia/Compact/Multi-State Eligible
BLS within 90 days of hire
ACLS within 1 year of hire

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN
Previous healthcare experience

Responsibilities

Provide high acuity cardiac care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias, STEMI's, heart failure, chest pain, ICD's, and permanent pacemakers.
Gain experience in atrial fibrillation medication management.
Work with state-of-the-art technology.
Participate in a 6-month Nurse Residency program combining practical skills, hands-on training, professional development, and mentoring for new graduates.
