Registered Nurse ( RN ) - 7th Floor Cardiac/Renal/Med Surg
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) works in a collaborative environment as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care using evidence-based medicine and individualized care. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and contributes to care that addresses patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This position is on the 7th Floor Cardiac/Renal/Med Surg unit. The schedule is 72 hours per pay period, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m., every other weekend and rotating holidays in accordance with the CBA. The RN must be familiar with hospital and department policies and procedures, accepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department services, and the medical staff. This knowledge is normally acquired through 1–3 months of orientation. The RN must maintain current nursing knowledge, BLS certification, and required continuing education units for relicensure, and demonstrate commitment to MGHP’s philosophy, values, mission, and vision.
Requirements
- Graduate from a state-accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license required.
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS required.
- For staff RN positions within a specialty area, prior employment experience in the appropriate clinical setting is preferred.
- Become familiar with hospital and department policies and procedures, accepted methods of requisitioning ancillary department service work, and the medical staff; this knowledge is normally acquired through 1–3 months of orientation.
- Maintain current nursing knowledge, BLS certification, and required CEUs for relicensure.
