It is Part Time, working 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week). The typical hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with Thursdays off. Currently, weekends and holidays are not part of the schedule, but this may change to support clinic needs. This position is located in Voorhees, New Jersey, at the Voorhees Specialty Care facility. The Oncology Clinic and Day Hospital is situated in the Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care. The Outpatient Oncology clinic sees an average of 100 patients per day, operating Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Nurses collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to care for the patient population. Other services within the clinic include a general anesthesia procedure and recovery area, as well as a day hospital infusion area. Bone marrow aspirates and lumbar punctures are performed daily, requiring all nurses to be PALS certified. The day hospital serves both hematology and oncology patients, administering blood products and chemotherapy. The Oncology clinic also functions as an emergency room for the oncology population until 6:00 PM daily. All staff are proficient in peripheral intravenous (PIV) placement and central line care. This is a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with opportunities for growth and professional development. The Clinical Nurse practices at the level of an advanced beginner to expert practitioner of professional nursing, guided by the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model. Nurses at this level demonstrate competence in caring for patients and families and progress to managing patients with complex problems and high acuity in their designated clinical area. They provide age and developmentally appropriate care, with RN leadership for patient care within a family-centered care framework. The Clinical Nurse adheres to the organizational and nursing department's mission, vision, and values, and practices in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics, ANA Standards of Clinical Nursing Practice, specialty nursing organization standards, and CHOP-developed standards.
