About The Position

Valley Hope of Grapevine, voted The Best Treatment Facility in Northeast Tarrant County, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. Valley Hope focuses on restoring lives affected by addiction and supporting lifelong recovery through core values of Character, Compassion, and Commitment. This PRN (as needed) position involves providing compassionate medical care to patients undergoing residential and outpatient drug and alcohol addiction treatment, typically from admission to discharge over 30-45 days. The role offers a unique treatment approach and a rewarding work experience in a more relaxed setting than a standard hospital. Nurses play a crucial role in making patients feel loved and supported throughout their recovery journey.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • One (1) year of clinical nursing care work experience.
  • Previous experience in substance abuse/behavioral health environments.

Responsibilities

  • Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
  • Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
  • Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during the patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patients.
  • Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
  • Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
  • Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
