About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services at Ascension Via Christi in Manhattan, KS. The position is full-time, working days. The nurse will execute scrub and circulator functions, partner with surgeons, and oversee room and instrument preparation. The core of the role involves delivering nursing care with a focus on safety, sterility, and clinical outcomes.

Requirements

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Execute scrub functions, including selection and sterile handling of instrumentation and supplies.
Execute circulator functions, including monitoring, documentation, and real-time communication.
Partner with surgeons to facilitate hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and optimal patient positioning.
Oversee the preparation and sterilizations of rooms, surgical instruments, and high-tech equipment.
Deliver nursing care while maintaining a focus on safety, sterility, and clinical outcomes.
