About The Position

This position delivers professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. The role involves performing scrub functions, including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedures, as well as circulating functions such as monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition, and managing the overall nursing care of the patient before, during, and after the procedure. The Registered Nurse will directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure, as well as patient positioning. Additionally, the role includes preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.

Requirements

Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
