About The Position
Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Irving as a Registered Nurse in Tower 3-4, a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. The leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The patient population includes those with respiratory distress/failure requiring high flow, airvo, and bipap O2 therapies, critical drips (amiodarone, Cardizem, cardene, insulin, dopamine), sepsis patients, HTN urgency/emergency, DKA, and a variety of other medical/surgical patients. The patient ratios are 1:3-4, with 21 beds in the unit. The department is family and teamwork oriented, prioritizing patient/staff safety, and has an active Unit Based Council.
Requirements
- Graduated from an Accredited Program.
- Specialized field of study should be nursing.
- RN license.
- Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
Responsibilities
- Provide care for respiratory distress/failure patients requiring high flow, airvo, and bipap O2 therapies.
- Administer critical drips including amiodarone, Cardizem, cardene, insulin, dopamine.
- Care for sepsis patients with a variety of infectious processes.
- Manage patients with HTN urgency/emergency, DKA, and other medical/surgical conditions.
- Maintain patient/staff safety as a top priority.
- Participate in the Unit Based Council.
