Registered Nurse, Per Diem Days, Endoscopy, Overlook Medical Center
About The Position
This role involves providing care in the Endoscopy unit, including Gastroenterology and Pulmonary procedures. The nurse will demonstrate knowledge of conditions, diagnoses, procedures, and equipment specific to the unit, adhering to SGNA standards of practice. Key responsibilities include assessing patient understanding, actively involving patients and families in teaching, and demonstrating flexibility to meet unit staffing needs. The goal is to practice clinically effectively to improve patient satisfaction. The department operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an on-call team for emergencies outside of these hours.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing. (All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.)
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
- 1+ year of experience in Endoscopy Nursing or relevant area.
- ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
- Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
- Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
- Records patient vital signs and medical information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
