About The Position

The Registered Nurse is a Massachusetts-licensed professional nurse accountable for planning and providing care to assigned patients in accordance with the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual and Nursing Standards of Care. The nurse demonstrates initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills in caring for patients with complex needs, and assumes responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The position reports directly to a designated nurse manager or supervisor and supports the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice. This role is on the 4 East medical-surgical unit at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. The schedule is 36 hours per week on rotating day and evening shifts, with every-other-weekend and holiday commitments. The position is onsite.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Demonstrate basic analytical thinking necessary to care for a group of patients.
Demonstrate observational skills and the ability to set priorities.
Be able to function under stress and demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate effective teamwork, communication, respect for others, and time and priority management.
Adhere to all I.C.A.R.E. standards.

Responsibilities

Plan and provide patient care for assigned patients in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care and the Nursing Department's Clinical Practice Manual.
Assess patients and plan, implement, and evaluate their care.
Use initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills to care for patients with complex needs.
Manage assigned patients and take responsibility for their care.
Support the Patient and Family Centered Care Model and best-practice care.
