About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Registered Nurses (RN) for its Specialty Medical Nursing Units. This role is suitable for experienced nurses, student nurses, and recent graduate nurses. The hospital offers a supportive environment for professional and interpersonal development. Hartford Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center, one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals, known for its cutting-edge technology and medical care, including the advanced Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI). The Specialty Medicine Units provide a collaborative work environment for nurses caring for a wide variety of patients with acute care conditions, fostering the development of critical thinking, delegation, and time management skills. Requirements

  • Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date.
  • ASN Required (Must obtain a BSN within 6 years of starting in the RN role).
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
  • Nursing students can be offered a position, but start is contingent upon attainment of a CT RN license.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.

Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic care to patients and their families.
  • Practice at the top of their license using research, innovation, and evidence-based practices.
  • Utilize clinical instruction and learning opportunities through the Nurse Residency program (for graduate RNs).
  • Collaborate with interprofessional teams to promote patient safety.
