About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in Outpatient Services at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. The department provides outpatient services, GI/endoscopy, and infusion therapy. The role is suited to a nurse who values variety, teamwork, and exceptional patient care, working alongside an experienced nursing team with 10–40 years of nursing experience. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 8-hour shifts.

Requirements

Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS (AHA or ARC) certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Current ACLS (AHA or ARC) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Current PALS (AHA or ARC) certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
Complete Moderate Sedation competency within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous acute care hospital experience is preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicate with physicians, the Director of Surgical Services, the House Supervisor, and coworkers about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, including diagnostic study results and symptoms.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patients’ conditions or responses to treatment.
Coordinate patient care with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist; direct and guide other personnel while maintaining standards of care in the Outpatient Department.
Work with other departments and coworkers to provide quality care across the continuum, support efficient patient flow, and maintain unit organization.
Adhere to regulations, standards, and hospital or unit policies and procedures.
Participate in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings, and in-services.
Act as a resource for other personnel as appropriate.
