About The Position

This 30-bed unit provides care to patients with primary cardiac diagnoses, as well as to medical patients that require cardiac telemetry monitoring. 4 South Acute/Cardiac is staffed by registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, health unit coordinators, and monitor technicians. Staff receive support from clinical educators and advanced practice nurses. As a Registered Nurse you will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered continuum of care. You will have the ability to communicate variances from patient goals and advocate on behalf of patients. You will maintain accurate and timely healthcare records, administer medications to patients, provide education and monitor for efficacy and side effects. You will also assess, monitor, report and record patient condition and pertinent changes, and design, implement and evaluate patient nursing care plans with the healthcare team. Additionally, you will educate patients and family throughout their stay and in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree required (BSN preferred). Note, if the BSN or MSN degree is not present on hire, the employee must sign an agreement to obtain a within a specific time frame.
  • Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association).
  • Superb interpersonal, communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Competency in electronic patient management systems.
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience in an acute care setting, preferably cardiac.
