About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Freestanding ER department at Ascension Sacred Heart Bay in Panama City, FL. The position is PRN with rotating shifts. The nurse will deliver high-quality emergency nursing care by assessing, implementing, and coordinating individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and urgent conditions. They will monitor and communicate changes in patient condition promptly, coordinate care across physicians, EMS, specialists, and support teams, carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently, and support discharge planning and patient education.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date require. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida required. Credentialed from State Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.
Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
PALS certification.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care by assessing, implementing, and coordinating individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and urgent conditions.
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition promptly to support timely interventions and ensure safe, effective care.
Coordinate care across physicians, EMS, specialists, and support teams to promote efficient patient flow and seamless transitions throughout the emergency visit.
Carry out physician and nursing orders accurately and efficiently while prioritizing patient safety and clinical excellence in a fast-paced environment.
Support discharge planning and patient education to promote recovery, reinforce follow-up care, and reduce unnecessary return visits.
