RN / Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Procedures Unit (CVPU) - UW Medical Center-Montlake
About The Position
The University of Washington Medical Center-Montlake is hiring a registered nurse for its Cardiovascular Procedures Unit (CVPU), including the Interventional Cardiac Recovery Unit (ICRU). The CVPU provides specialized care across the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, and ICRU. The role provides direct care to patients before and after cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment, with an emphasis on safe, high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care. The position is 100% FTE, with three 10-hour shift start times: 06:00, 08:30, and 10:30. There is no call. This is a regular position.
Requirements
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Washington.
- At least 2 years of cardiac, telemetry, or Interventional Radiology experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients admitted for procedures and recovering from procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Labs.
- Provide IV therapy, pre-procedure assessment and preparation, post-procedure recovery, and access site management.
- Provide pre- and post-procedure teaching to patients and families before discharge or transfer to inpatient Cardiology Services.
- Support cardioversions, transesophageal echocardiograms, implantable loop recorders, and moderate sedation procedures.
