About The Position

The RN will enhance the effective management and quality of nursing practice daily in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care. Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices as well as in the areas of wound management, infection control, least restraint, and safe lift.
  • Effective human relation skills enable others through coaching, mentoring, learning through shared experiences.
  • Ability to work alone and with others while prioritizing tasks to handle the most urgent first.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills
  • Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the “big picture”
  • Ability to work effectively within a variety of stressful situations and challenges and with various individuals or groups.
  • Strong organizing, planning, prioritizing, time management skills.
  • Proven experience in taking personal responsibility for seeking information from various sources.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Long Term Care preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Must work at all times within the regulation laid out in the Health Professions Act.
  • Accountable for assessing, planning, monitoring, and coordinating the delivery of resident care.
  • Oversees ADL provisions of care, Interdisciplinary Team Conference, care plan development and addresses family concerns.
  • Works collaboratively with the health care team and acts as a champion of customer satisfaction and customer service.
  • Assists in orientating, mentoring and competency development of staff.
  • Staff replacement in absence of the nursing clerk.
  • Take charge of the facility in the absence of management.
