Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit
About The Position
The Registered Nurse delivers quality nursing care through the utilization of the nursing process and collaborates with other healthcare team members to maintain professional nursing practice standards. The nurse performs duties according to hospital policy and mission, and professional and regulatory guidelines. The role directs, coordinates, and delegates activities to foster patient- and family-centered care. This position is in the Intensive Care Unit and is scheduled for 72 hours bi-weekly, with daily work times from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Weekend work is required on weekends 1 and 3 of the 28-day schedule, as well as the Holiday A rotation.
Requirements
- Associate degree from a certified nursing program.
- Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
- At least one year of RN experience in a hospital setting.
- AHA BLS card required before the start date and valid for at least 60 days beyond the start date.
- ACLS certification required by the end of unit orientation.
Nice To Haves
- TCAR certification.
- Step Down or Critical Care experience.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and educational needs.
- Plan and implement nursing care according to patient and family needs.
- Make appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs.
- Evaluate patient responses to nursing interventions.
- Assume personal responsibility for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, the environment, and professional development.
- Direct, coordinate, and delegate activities to foster patient- and family-centered care.
