About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide quality health care to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities within Dungarvin's residential programs. This position will primarily be located on-site in Eugene, OR with travel once per week to Portland, OR (mileage reimbursed). The RN's main functions for this role will be to provide primary health care, monitor health conditions, plan long-term care needs, advise direct support staff, and provide continuity of care. Conduct routine site visits with individuals supported, checking vitals, doing assessments, counseling of medication administration, and documenting progress. Ensure that everyone receives quality, individualized health care management, resulting in their optimal health. Assure health care documentation and reporting meets licensing, contracting requirements, and organizational policy and that all medical record keeping is accurate and complete. Facilitate appropriate involvement of direct support staff to promote quality healthcare supports and act as health/medical resource for staff. Attend support plan meetings to advise on monitoring of patients by external health care professionals. Train and delegate direct support professionals to perform assigned nursing tasks (e.g., insulin administration, g-tube care), with ongoing supervision and adherence to state delegation guidelines and organizational policy.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of prior experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Maintain a current Registered Nurse license to practice nursing in the state of Oregon
  • Valid Driver's License and vehicle with insurance to travel between residential homes
  • Solid computer and documentation skills
  • Dependable, adaptable, flexible
  • Good communication skills (reading, writing, and verbal)

  • Experience in long term care, residential services, or supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage own schedule/calendar

Responsibilities
