The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized care to patients. The role collaborates with physicians and other interprofessional colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care, and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise using age- and population-specific standards appropriate to the clinical setting. The RN supports patients across preventive care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, and is responsible for care planning and coordination, assessment, education, triage, and other nursing interventions. Practice follows the Nurse Practice Act and applicable administrative rules in the state of practice and licensure, as well as the American Nurses Association’s Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses. The position is in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU that provides specialized care for patients with complex cardiovascular needs, including patients recovering from TAVR and CABG procedures, patients with STEMI or NSTEMI, and patients requiring mechanical circulatory support such as balloon pumps and Impella devices. The team also cares for patients after cardiac arrest, emphasizing advanced hemodynamic monitoring and comprehensive post-interventional management.
